our favourite places around the tobel

Once you arrive at the tobel, you do not have to travel far. Hiking trails, lakes, viewpoints and small Allgäu treasures lie right outside the door — for active days and for slow hours alike.

Waldweg hinauf zum Schloss Zeil

our favourite walk

schloss zeil and the josefskapelle

Up through the forest to the castle, on to the small Josefskapelle and back with a view across the Allgäu. The path starts practically at the farm gate — and it is the reason many guests spend their lunch break outdoors.

the bike is already waiting

Numerous Allgäu cycle loops start right at the farm gate and lead through the rolling countryside around Leutkirch. The finest of them follows the Argen — again and again beside the water, past gravel banks, meadows and small villages.

the cold season

when snow falls

Around Leutkirch some 145 kilometres of cross-country trails are groomed in winter, and the nearest ski lifts are about half an hour away — the Felderhalde near Isny, for instance, or the small lifts nearby. Good for a day in the snow and an evening by the fire.
