Our farmstead sits just below Schloss Zeil. tobel1853, built in 1853, has been a place of gathering for generations – and carries on that story.

Sometimes it takes a step away to feel where you truly belong. After some years away from home, we were drawn back to the place where our hearts feel at home. tobel1853 connects our roots with a vision: to create a special place for special moments.
With respect for the farmstead’s history and great attention to detail, we have carefully renewed tobel1853. Old beams were kept, ecological materials and clean forms deliberately chosen. tobel1853 is our passion project – a place where less does not mean less, but more room for what matters.
Together with our team, we create a place that encourages slowing down, while delivering quality and care in every detail. A place where people can relax and become part of the community.
This is not just about being together, but about life, genuine encounters and what truly counts.

tobel1853 is funded by the European Union, the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Homeland, and the State of Baden-Württemberg. This support stands for what we believe in too: that it is worth rethinking life in the countryside. Bringing places to life. Bringing people together. Creating spaces that endure. We are grateful to be part of this journey.
This measure supports the cooperation of the local population and the initiation, organisation and implementation of projects for sustainable development in rural areas (“LEADER region”). It thereby contributes to the specific objective SO8 (dynamic rural development) of the CAP Strategic Plan for Germany.
